Fire At The Seward County Landfill: UPDATE

Seward County Firefighters were called to the Seward County Landfill Sunday evening at around 9:00pm to fight a fire at the facility.According to Seward County Fire Chief Mike Rice, it appears a hot ember dumped out of a truck over the weekend, ignited other trash that had also come in over the weekend. Firefighters were on scene with trucks antil after 1:00pm with personnel on scene until 6:30am Monday morning. Firefighters will continue to monitor the scene, and wet down the burnt trash until they deem it safe to bury.
