Ulysses Couple To Stand Trial

KSCB News - June 6, 2009 12:00 am

A judge has determined there is enough evidence to try a Ulysses man and his wife with shooting

and wounding the man’s former boss.

Ramiro Garza Jr. of Ulysses was bound over for trial after a

preliminary hearing Thursday in Grant County District Court.

He is charged with criminal discharge of a firearm, aggravated

assault, aggravated criminal use of a weapon and criminal

possession of a firearm in the shooting of Esequiel Gutierrez.

His wife, Lexy Garza, was bound over for trial on charges of

aggravated assault and obstructing official duty. The judge

dismissed a third count charging her with criminal discharge of a

firearm.

An arraignment hearing for the couple is set for July 7.
