1st Baby Born On Pancake Day Earns “Baby Cakes” Award

Pancake Day Baby Cakes Chairman Jan Nondorf was on hand Tuesday to present the Baby Cakes Award to tiny Leo Flores. Leo made his appearance at 3:15 p.m., at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal on Pancake Day. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 and 1/4 inches long. His proud parents are Leo Poldo and Olivia Flores of Liberal. Leo Flores this year’s Baby Cakes in honor of Pancake Day and very sleepily shows off his chef’s hat that was part of a gift basket presented to him and his family on Tuesday. The Pancake Day Board awards this honor each year to the first baby born on or after Pancake Day.
