Moscow Meets their Match in Title Game

Pittsburg Colgan scored seven runs in the first three innings and went on to win their fifth straight state title 10-1 over Moscow Saturday evening at Soden’s Grove in Emporia. Moscow finishes 25-1 with their best finish ever in the fourth year of their program. Moscow had two hits in the loss. Moscow won their semifinal game 1-0 over Salina Sacred Heart Saturday morning 1-0. Jace Moore allowed just two hits as he improved to 9-0. Thaine Whitham’s single to center scored home Taylor Roop in the bottom of the seventh of the win. Six of Moscow’s seniors played in eight state tournament games the past three years in Emporia.
