Liberal City Commission Meets, Approves Air Museum Gift Shop Upgrades

KSCB News - January 22, 2013 10:02 pm

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, the Commission approved the franchise agreement with United Wireless Communications Inc., approved the 2012 Standard Traffic Ordinances and the 2012 Public Offense Codes, and approved several vehicle and environmental abatements throughout the City. Commissioners also approved a $25,000.00 upgrade to the Mid America Air Museum Gift shop. This would bring the Point of Sale software up to grade with other City Departments, Golf Course, Convention and Visitors Bureau, and would also expand the Gift Shop to meet the needs that are expected with the Dinosaur and future exhibits. Commissioners also appointed Norma Jean Dodge to the Joint Economic Development Council, and accepted a gift of $4679.84 from Benny Yeu, owner of the Taste of China, to construct a Bus Stop Shelter to be located at Liberal’s Wal-Mart. The next meeting of the Liberal City Commission will be February 12, with the State of the City address scheduled for February 7th.
