Washington Elementary Holds “Jump for Heart” Event

KSCB News - December 13, 2012 8:38 am

Washington Elementary holds Jump For Heart event. This years ???Jump for Heart?? competition was designed around three coin jars that featured Washington???s Principal, Mr. John Jones, Washington third grade teacher Cliff Lahita, and Washington physical education teacher Bob Arnold. For 20 days students??? in grades one thru three filled the jars with pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters to see who would win the right to throw a shaving cream pie to one of the 3 targets. The students??? generated $142.00 for the event which was won, kind of, by physical education teacher Bob Arnold. Second grader Jaqueline Cortez and second grader Liliana Perez names??? were drawn from all the students??? to deliver the pie in the face prize. The ???Jump for Heart?? program has been a tradition in Liberal grade schools for many years and continues to be a great opportunity for our students to learn about charitable support of young heart patients and heart research.
