Kansas Moves Up On Deer/Vehicle Danger List

KSCB News - October 24, 2012 8:28 am

Kansas is moving up on a national list, but it’s not a ranking drivers will be happy about.

State Farm says Kansas jumped up six spots in the national ranking of states where drivers are most likely to hit a deer.

The insurance company ranks states based on the number of deer- car crashes and the likelihood for a crash.

Last year State Farm ranked Kansas 25th and said the odds were 1 in 164.

This year, the company says the number of crashes involving deer is up all over the country. From July 2011 to June 2012, there were 1,231,710 deer related crashes nationwide. That’s up %7.7 from the year before.
