Kansas State Historical Looks to Digitize Historic Local Pictures

KSCB News - September 17, 2012 2:46 pm

The Kansas State Historical Society will be visiting the Coronado Museum Tuesday and Wednesday to digitize the Seward County Historical Society’s photo and document collection. Nancy Sherbert and two staff members will be scanning local photographs to be filed in the state historical society’s photo files and onto the Kansas Memory website. Frequently, researchers request scans for publications, exhibits, film productions, and school projects. This project will make the local society’s vast collection of area photos available for these researchers and anyone else interested in Seward County’s history.

The public is also invited to bring Seward County or Kansas photos to be digitized. The photo must be of Kansas and be identifiable. Visit KansasMemory.org or call the Coronado Museum at 624-7624 for more information.
