Record Temperatures Reached Again In Oklahoma

KSCB News - August 3, 2012 8:18 am

A record temperature has been set again in Oklahoma.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature peaked at 112 degrees in Oklahoma City and Tulsa Thursday afternoon.

For Oklahoma City, the high temperature broke a record of 110 degrees set in 1980. The 112-degree reading equaled Wednesday’s daytime high and is one degree cooler than Oklahoma City’s all-time high of 113.

In Tulsa, the daytime high tied a record that was set in 2011.

Weather service tables indicated temperatures generally ranged from the low 100s to the 110’s across the state.

The mercury peaked at 113 in Guthrie, Hobart and Lawton for some of the hottest readings. The temperature in Guymon in the Oklahoma Panhandle reached 101 degrees.
