$10,000 Federal Grant Will Purchase Crime Camera For Liberal Police Dept.

KANSAS CITY, KAN. �?? The city of Liberal will receive a $10,574 grant from the Justice Department to purchase a crime camera, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

An Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) for $10,313 will pay for the purchase of a surveillance camera package and server. The camera has the capability to monitor live situations and to record for later viewing. The goal will be to use the package in high crime areas in an attempt to reduce criminal activity.
