Phase 1 Complete, Phase 2 Ready to Start on K-23 North of Meade

KSCB News - May 22, 2012 8:31 am

The surface recycle portion of a resurfacing project on K-23 north of Meade has been completed and the contractor is ready to follow up with a chip seal over the asphalt surface starting this week.

The 11-foot width restriction on K-23 from Meade to the US-56/K-23 junction remains in effect. During working hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The Kansas DOT reminds drivers to pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down and be prepared to stop.

Heft & Sons, L.L.C., of Greensburg, is performing the seal portion of this project. KDOT expects the work to be completed by mid-June, depending on the weather.

If you have questions regarding this project on K-23, you may contact Greg Adams, Construction Engineer, at 620-624-4451 or Kirk Hutchinson, KDOT Southwest Public Affairs Manager, at 1-877-550-5368 (toll free).
