Rainbow Players Announces Auditions For “Guys And Dolls”

KSCB News - May 7, 2012 1:15 pm

Auditions for Guys and Dolls will be May 14 and 15 at 7pm in the Showcase Theatre on Seward County Community College/ Area Technical School campus. To audition, only attend one night.

Guys and Dolls has music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. This 50’s oddball romantic comedy is considered the perfect Broadway musical. With songs like “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat”, “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sue Me”, Guys and Dolls takes the audience from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City. Funny and romantic, Guys and Dolls is ideal for audiences and performers of any age.

Guys and Dolls is directed by Alison Bridget Chambers and Music Directed by Jackie Depew.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, a short dance combo and a few musical bars from the show, so there is no need to prepare anything. Roles are available for all ages. Show dates are July 12, 13 and 14 at 7:30p.m. SCCC/ATS is located at 1801 N Kansas in Liberal. For more information, call (620)417-1460. Guys and Dolls is produced through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Visit www.rainbowplayers.com
