Portion Of Hwy. 50 Closed

KSCB News - April 9, 2012 4:42 pm

The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed US-50 in Kearny County, approximately three-and-a-half miles east of the junction of US-50 and K-25. A small plane struck tower guy wires, causing damage to the tower, which is close to the roadway. The highway has been closed as a safety precaution, while the damage to the tower is assessed. Traffic is being detoured on county roads east of Lakin. The detour route has a bridge with a weight limit of 11 tons. KDOT will re-open the road as soon as possible.
