Michael A. Oź??Kane, a veteran Kansas business leader, took charge of the new Kansas Small Business Development Center outreach site in Liberal May 1.

Oź??Kane, a Liberal resident, will be based on the campus of Seward County Community College/Area Technical School as KSBDC outreach center consultant, and his mission will be to help Southwest Kansans start or succeed in business.

He will provide consulting to individual clients in business planning, finance, marketing and management. He will also offer assistance in creating business and marketing plans, making financial projections and analyzing cash flow.

Depending on the client, the new consultant may also advise in areas ranging from human resources to patent and trademark processes. In addition, he will set up training seminars, conduct presentations, take part in networking events and handle related responsibilities.

The new KSBDC Outreach Center in Liberal is the result of a partnership involving SCCC/ATS, the City of Liberal and the 22-county KSBDC at Garden City Community College.

Dr. Duane Dunn, SCCC/ATS president, indicated the potential for economic growth and new business development would be enhanced through the arrangement.
