Guymon To See Water Tower Improvements

KSCB News - March 13, 2012 8:28 am

Guymon’s City Council met, Thursday evening, for their regularly scheduled council agenda followed by the Guymon Utilities Authority (GUA) Trustee meeting.

City Manager Ted Graham gave updates on various projects during the GUA portion of the meeting and concluded, “We’re moving all of our projects forward.”
Graham moved for the council to accept a $149,000 bid relating to the rehabilitation of the 500,000 gallon elevated water tank on the west side of town. The tank in question stands near the entrance to the Hitch Rodeo Arena and the bid accepted for its rehabilitation was to McGuire Iron. Graham reported the bid accepted is under the budgeted $179,000 for the project.
Graham also said Hydro Resource is working on drilling the new water well, no. 34.
“It is well under way and hope to have it completed by mid-April,” Graham said. “It will finish the original first phase of the water improvement plan.”
