Oklahoma Voters Head to the Polls Tuesday

KSCB News - March 6, 2012 6:01 am

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – After a flurry of last-minute campaigning,
Oklahoma voters head to the polls Tuesday to select nominees in
both parties.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across the state, and
election officials say turnout has been steady over three days of
early voting.
The Sooner State has 40 of the 419 delegates up for grabs as
part of Super Tuesday in 10 states, but it’s also Oklahoma’s
reputation as the "reddest of the red states" that the four
remaining candidates for the Republican presidential nomination are
courting.
Rick Santorum paid his second visit to Oklahoma over the weekend
as he tried to nail down support from Christian conservatives, a
critical segment of Oklahoma Republican voters.
Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney also have visited
Oklahoma recently.
