LHS Additions Will Result in a Mill Levy Increase

KSCB News - April 29, 2009 12:00 am

The renovation of Redskin Field including the extra track and the addition of building four new classrooms at Liberal High School will raise the current mill levy. The cost of both projects combined is estimated to cost around $3.46 million. To pay for the projects USD 480 will raise the mill by 2.5 or 3 mills. The current mill levy is 40.01. What this means is a tax increase to property owners. The new classrooms that will be built will be on the east side of the high school. These four classrooms will house technical classes that will include computer labs. The build on will be two stories tall. The addition of the classrooms will provide classrooms for the four teachers who currently don’t have classrooms at the high school and have to push carts around. Both projects will get underway as soon as possible.
