Four Ulysses Residents Injured In Hwy 54 Crash

Four Ulysses people were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Meade County.

Keldon Pucket, 27, was driving a 2006 Toyota passenger car westbound near the intersection of U.S. Highway 54 and U.S. Highway 160 and failed to make a curve due to the slushy and snow-packed highway. Pucket lost control of the vehicle and it crossed the center line and struck a 1998 Ford Expedition driven by Lynn Spencer, 56, Meade, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The Toyota passenger car came to rest facing north in the median between the westbound and eastbound traffic lights. The Expedition came to rest on the eastbound shoulder of the roadway facing east and southeast.

Keldon Pucket, along with passengers Elizabeth Pucket, 28, Gage Pucket, 9, and Adam Pucket, 6 months, were taken to the Meade County Hospital.

Staff at the hospital would not release their conditions.

All were wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.

Spencer also was taken to the Meade County District Hospital. He and passenger Riley Saucedo, 14, Meade, who was not injured, were both wearing seat belts, according to KHP.
