Kansas the Target of Winter Storm

KSCB News - December 19, 2011 6:01 am

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – Some parts of Kansas could see more than a
foot of snow in the next few days, with blizzard conditions likely
in the southwest corner of the state.
The National Weather Service in Topeka says a blizzard warning
is in effect for western Kansas, from Hays down through Dodge City
and on to the Colorado state line, from 9 a.m. Monday to noon
Tuesday.
Meteorologist Shawn Byrne says 9 to 12 inches of snow is
expected in the blizzard area, with some places getting even more.
He says rain on Monday will start changing to rain in the
western part of the state and move east as the day goes on.
Central Kansas could receive 8 to 10 inches of snow, while the
Topeka area could get 4 to 6 inches.
