Okla. Panhandle To See Snow

KSCB News - December 5, 2011 8:10 am

A series of storm systems could dump snow
on parts of Oklahoma over the next few days.
The National Weather Service says the greatest amount of
precipitation – 4 to 6 inches – could occur in the Oklahoma
Panhandle region, while 2 inches or less are possible elsewhere in
the state.
Forecasters say colder air will filter into Oklahoma early
Sunday as the first storm system approaches and set the stage for
freezing precipitation. The second system could produce an
additional band of snow, mostly in northern Oklahoma, on Monday
night and into early Tuesday.
The weather service expects the snow to mostly accumulate on
grassy surfaces, vehicles and trees. Because of warm ground
temperatures, forecasters say the snow will melt pretty quickly.
