Sunflower Students To Have Class At Fellowship Baptist Church

KSCB News - August 17, 2011 2:01 pm

Sunflower Intermediate school was the site of a small fire on Wednesday morning. The fire was contained to a custodial supply room; however, there was considerable smoke throughout the building and classes were cancelled for the day.

Clean up procedures are underway at this time, but due to significant smoke the 4th grade hallway classrooms are not available for the remainder of this week. The 5th and 6th grade sections of the building received substantially less smoke and will be available for students tomorrow.

We are grateful for the hospitality of Pastor Bill Prater and the staff of Fellowship Baptist Church, 310 W. Pancake, they have extended their facility, allowing Sunflower 4th grade students to attend classes at that location on Thursday and Friday of this week.

Transportation will be provided from Sunflower to Fellowship Baptist in the morning and back to Sunflower in the afternoon for dismissal. All students should report to Sunflower in the morning and can be picked up at Sunflower at 3:25pm.

A faculty meeting will be held at 7:15 am Thursday, August 18th in the Library for all staff members.
