Saturday morning started with huge downtown parade, then the attention turned to the fairgrounds. There was a commercial and craft fair, entertainment and plenty of food throughout the entire Beaver County Fairgrounds. The World Championship Throw started at 1:45pm. Winners on the day included: in the Mens Division once again James Pratt of Beaver walked away with the title, followed by John Elfert, and Mark Tillman. In the Womens Division, Terri Wetty of Laverne Oklahoma had the farthest throw. In second was Dana Martin of Guymon, followed by Sandi Frey of Tilden Nebraska in third. In the VIP Division, Liberal Mayor Joe Denoyer took first place, while Randy Frasier, Beaver City Manager, came in second. In the Team Competition, the Beaver Fire Department once again claimed top honors, followed by Lipscomb Land and Cattle Company, of Booker Texas. Once again the Beaver Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Beaver, and its many sponsors, put on a wonderfully organized, fun event for the entire family.
