Heated Exchange Leads To Weapons Search

KSCB News - June 27, 2011 8:38 am

What appeared to be a serious situation Saturday afternoon , turned out to be an argument between 2 truck drivers. Officers of the Liberal Police Department and the Seward County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Express Lane at the Corner of Highway 54 and Western Avenue at approximately 1:55pm on the reports of a gun being pulled on a truck driver. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and cuffed the man to secure the scene. After a search of the truck and the scene no gun was located. Officers learned that the two truck drivers had earlier gotten into a heated argument, when one of the men called Dispatch and stated that the other truck driver had pulled a gun on him. Officers responded with a Felony Stop, no weapon was found and the man was allowed to leave the scene. The truck driver that called in the report, had already left the scene and was in Oklahoma when he made the call. This case is still under investigation
