Man Shot In The Head Released from Hospital

A man shot in the head in Dodge City is treated and released from the hospital.

Just before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, authorizes were called to the McDonalds in the 700 block of west Wyatt Earp for the report of a shooting, according to a press release from the Dodge City Police Department.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found 57-year-old Rick Schweitzer of Dodge City, with a gunshot wound to the head.

Schweitzer was able to tell police that he was actually shot at the intersection of 10th and Elm.

He was transported to Western Plains Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.

A person of interest has been identified and questioned by police. No arrests have been made, and they are still investigating.
