Flyer Scam Hits Guymon

KSCB News - May 20, 2011 10:28 am

Many Guymon residents found an flyer at their homes this week with what appears to be a Double Jackpot scratch off game that has a $12,000 grand prize along with many other prizes ranging from a 55” television to MP3 players. Citizens may think this is associated with the Oklahoma Lottery but it is not according to Guymon Chief of Police Eddie Adamson.

“We had a citizen make a complaint about someone placing one of these flyers in their door so we checked into it to see if it was a scam or anything and learned it is reportedly an advertising campaign for a company selling air filtration systems for your home,” Adamson added.

“We just want everyone to know that this flyer is not associated with the Oklahoma Lottery or anything like that; it is simply an advertising medium for an air filtration company,” according to Adamson

The flyer states on the back that it is sponsored by K2 Air Systems, Inc out of Colorado with a “Winners Hotline” toll free number for people to call.
