Liberal Voters Reject Community Recreation Center Proposal

The voters of Liberal spoke Tuesday with their votes on whether or not the community wanted the City of Liberal to expend 1 cent sales tax money and build a Community Receation Center. The citizens voted down the proposal 730 no to 531 yes. The question of a Recreation Center has been a topic of conversation since the early 1980’s and was listed as atop priority on surveys conducted by the Focus on the Future group, 1261 voters cast their votes on the Rec Center question.
