LHS Tennis Team Meets their Match

Abilene’s tennis team was a state qualifier in 4-a last year. They proved to be too much for Liberal’s tennis team yesterday at the Hays Invitational by winning the 10 team tournament. Abilene scored a perfect 40 points while Liberal had 26 for second place. But Liberal lost two tie breakers against Abilene. Rogelio Alvarez took second in number one singles while the number one doubles team of Landon Harp and Aaron Schaeffer took second after losing a tie breaker with Abilene. In number two doubles, Vince and Duc Nguyen placed second after losing a tie breaker with Abilene. Josh Hamilton was fourth in number two singles.
