Importance of Gas Compressor Institute Remains

KSCB News - April 20, 2011 6:42 am

This is day two of the 59th Gas Compressor Institute at the Seward County Activity Center. Vice chairman Don Ukens says this event remains a key resource to the industry. "It started with some foresight from some industry guys all those years ago who saw the need for training for those guys working in the field. What’s really interesting is in 59 years, that hasn’t changed. The training is even more essential now because there’s fewer guys in the field to do the same job.

The Gas Compressor Institute features a variety of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, hands-on sessions and industry exhibits to inform participants about the oil and gas industry. Exhibitors display products that are on the cutting edge of technology for the industry. Ken Croy is the chairman of this year’s event. The keynote speaker is director of climate change at Southern

Union Company Charles Wait.
