Sublette Coach Accused Of Unlawful Sexual Relations With Student

A Sublette teacher and coach has been charged with four felony counts of unlawful sexual relations with a student.

Matthew Ziegler, a Sublette High School boys basketball coach and junior high language arts teacher, pleaded innocent to the charges Tuesday, according to Haskell County District Court records.

The Haskell County Sheriff’s Office issued a court summons to Ziegler last Friday, court records indicate. The crimes are alleged to have occurred in December and February.

Ziegler, who has worked in the Sublette school district for four years, was suspended with pay March 22, according to Sublette USD 374 Superintendent Rex Bruce. Ziegler is also a junior high and high school football coach.

The suspension is indefinite, and the Sublette school board plans to meet Monday to discuss the issue further, Bruce said. For more information go to www.hutchnews.com
