Young Redskins Swing into Season

Liberal has a young and talented golf team this year. The five varsity golfers going into the Liberal Invitational at Willow Tree Thursday are sophomores Justin Andrade, Slader McVey, and Alex Colvin along with junior Conner Warren and senior Ryan Petty. Third year head coach Kody Thexton says he is looking forward to coaching Andrade who was injured last year and has Kansas Amateur Tournament experience. McVey went to state as a freshman last year. Warren is a three year varsity player. Petty also returns experience while Colvin and played a lot in the off season but is inexperienced at the high school varsity level. Liberal has 17 boys out for golf.
