5 Racers Now In The International Pancake Race

The latest contestant to sign up for the Mar. 8 International Pancake Day Race is first-time racer Amanda Hatch, 22. She joins other first-racers Nicole Schowengerdt, 28, Misty Vaught, 35, and Melanie Knudsen, 19. Also running will be veteran Mikayla Knudsen, 21, who placed second last year and will be competing for the fourth time.
The Men’s Pacer Race has six entries so far: Robert “Pino” Hildreth, 30, John Vaught, 34, Sheldon White, 27, Paul Clayton, 22, Gary Walters, 51, and Alex Richards, 18.
Women’s Last Chance racers include Cindi Knudsen and Pat Greer.
Race categories are limited to 15 contestants and some children’s categories are full. The deadline to sign up for all races is 4 p.m. Saturday at the Tourist Information Center, One Yellow Brick Road, across from the Coronado Museum. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. Children under 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign the form. No late sign-ups will be accepted.
