Kansas House Passes Voter Fraud Bill

KSCB News - February 25, 2011 8:10 am

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s
(KOH’-bahk’s) legislation to require voters to show photo
identification at the polls has won first-round approval in the
state House.
The House voted 78-36 Thursday to advance the bill to final
action, suggesting it has more than enough support to pass when
that vote is taken Friday.
Besides the photo ID requirement, the bill would require people
who register to vote for the first time in the state to prove they
are citizens.
It also increases the penalties for election crimes.
