Snow Days Piling Up the Past Two Weeks

KSCB News - February 10, 2011 6:05 am

USD 480 students have spent about as much time out of school

as in school the past two weeks. Inclement weather forced schools

to be cancelled Wednesday after they let out early Tuesday. USD

480 superintendent Lance Stout says safety comes first. "Certainly our priority is the safety of our students and staff. We’re never going to compromise that. This week is was kind of a no brainer. Tuesday at 5 o’clock it was just coming down and we went ahead and made the call."

Last week school was cancelled one day and delayed two days.

We didn’t receive much snow last week but Stout says that

decision was based on the sub zero temperatures and wind chills

last week.
