Fire Knocks Out Power in Guymon

KSCB News - April 7, 2009 12:00 am

The Guymon Daily Herald reports that a grass fire caused power outages yesterday in western Texas County. The grass fire started along Highway 54 between the F.M. 119 turn off and the Oklahoma/Texas state line Monday afternoon. The strong winds out of the north pushed the fire south into Texas and threatened the wind turbines southwest of Texhoma. The fire knocked out an electrictal sub station and electricity in western Texas County including Guymon. The city was without power for about 20 minutes.
