Kansas Signs Deal With Neighboring States On Farm Vehicles

KSCB News - January 12, 2011 10:05 am

Kansas farmers will be able to operate farmvehicles across three state lines without getting a commercial driver’s license under a multistate agreement.

Kansas regulators announced the deal with Nebraska, Missouri and

Oklahoma on Tuesday.

The agreement allows drivers with valid non-commercial licenses

to operate farm vehicles within either state. The deal is meant to

facilitate the interstate transfer of farm goods.

Under its terms, the farm vehicle must only be used within 150

air miles of a farmer’s property. It also must be used only to

transport either agricultural products, farm machinery or farm

supplies from the farm and must be properly registered as a farm

vehicle.
