Gov.-Elect Brownback Gets His Own Beer

KSCB News - December 29, 2010 8:26 am

A Topeka microbrewery is toasting Kansas
Gov.-elect Sam Brownback’s inauguration with a new wheat beer that
bears his name.
Brownback and members of his family and staff sampled the new
brew Tuesday at the Blind Tiger Brewery and Restaurant. The
microbrewery has produced about 430 gallons of Brownback Wheat Beer
and plans to sell it at his inaugural dinner and ball on Jan. 8.
Brownback liked the brew but noted he’s a fan of wheat beer.
Brewmaster John Dean said he thinks a wheat beer is appropriate
for Kansas. He decided to give it a dark color to play off
Brownback’s name.
Blind Tiger owner Jay Ives said he’s not making a political
statement with the beer, because he’d honor the incoming governor
no matter what his party.
