Finney County Approves Incentives To Attract Business

KSCB News - December 8, 2010 12:00 am

The Finney County Commission has approved incentives to bring a Florida-based animal science technology company to relocate to the Garden City area.

Finney County authorities say TekVet Technologies Co. would

bring 60 new high-paying jobs to the area in its first year.

The Garden City Telegram reports that TekVet has been

negotiating with economic officials since late summer about

relocating its livestock health monitoring company to an industrial

site at Garden City Regional Airport. It’s also considering two

other out-of-state locations.

Garden City commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved an

incentive package that includes tax exemptions and cash grants.

The agreement includes Garden City buying two buildings, a

warehouse and office building, and allow the company to use them at

no cost for the first 10 years.
