Former Dodge City Man Convicted For Kidnapping

KSCB News - October 31, 2010 12:00 am

A former Dodge City man was convicted Thursday of abducting a woman from the Cargill Meat Solutions parking lot more than two years ago.

After deliberatiing for four hours, the jury found Jesus Aguero-Hernandez guilty of kidnapping, aggravated burglary and battery but acquitted him of attempted robbery, said Ford County Attorney Terry Malone.

Aguero-Hernandez kidnapped the victim, Blanca Millan, in her van shortly after midnight March 1, 2008, from the Cargill Meat Solutions parking lot. He took her to his uncle’s ranch about one-quarter mile south of Matt Down Road and Park Street, then ordered her to get out of the van.

Milland and Aguero-Hernandez both left the van, and he closed the front passenger’s-side door after he climbed out. But he left the keys in the ignition, and Millan jumped back in the van and drove off.

Aguero-Hernandez, who does not have a criminal record, would serve between five and seven years in prison altogether.

Aguero-Hernandez will be sentenced at a later date.
