Susan Soars Back to State

Susan Nguyen is headed to State in girls tennis for the second year in a row. As the #2 seed in the tournament at McPherson Saturday, Susan received a bye the first round and faced Moira Pyle from McPherson in the second round, losing 6-1, 6-3. Then, Susan bounced back to defeat Rachel Frazier from Salina South 6-0, 6-4. In a match for 5th and 6th place honors, Susan defeated Avery Vogts from Newton 6-1, 6-0 to earn the 5th Place medal and advance to the State Girls ?? Tennis Tournament in Emporia on Friday. Gaining valuable experience from regional talent, Kathy Nguyen lost to Avery Vogts from Newton 6-3, 6-2.

The doubles team of Desirae Courkamp and Lauren Harp lost 6-0, 6-2 to the team of Kinklaar/Courbot from Salina South, and the doubles team of Katie Plunk and Kassandra Rosales lost 6-0, 6-0 to McPherson ??s Wedel/Bonham.
