Bus Races At Kansas State Fair Raceway

KSCB News - October 8, 2010 12:00 am

The buses will go round and round during

an unusual race at the Kansas State Fair racetrack.

Eight colorful buses will race on Oct. 16 as part of the

O’Reilly/National Championship Racing Association event in

Hutchinson.

The buses currently are parked on a Hutchinson street and are

garnering lots of attention. One is painted in rainbow colors and

covered in flowers. Other entrants include a rock star bus, a baby

blue bus and a camouflage bus.

Speedway 81 announcer Warren Hardy says only racecar drivers

will be allowed to drive the buses during the race. He says 37

drivers have applied for the race.

The Hutchinson News reports that the event will also include

sprint cars and regular modified car races.
