Skins Blank Buffs

The Liberal Redskins got defensive in a 3-0 win over Garden City at Garden City Memorial Stadium Tuesday night. The Redskins held the Buffs to only three shots on goal winning that statistic 12-3 and goalie Fredric Gomez only needed one save in the win. The defense even scored the first goal when defenseman Joe Pena found the back of the net for Liberal’s first goal after an assist by Isai Gutierrez. Luis Chavira scored Liberal’s second goal with an assist from Alvin Portillo. Gutierrez rounded out the scoring with an assist from Chavira. Liberal sweeps the season series over the Buffaloes.

The #2 Redskins are 8-1-1 overall and 5-0 in the WAC with a big game Thursday at Hays. Garden City falls to 3-8.
