More Than 4000 Boy Scouts To Gather In Salina

More than 4,000 people will gather in Salina

this weekend to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts

of America.

The Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and adult leaders from a 32-county

region in Kansas will be treated to a week of activites, contests

and a concert.

Scouts will begin arriving

Friday, with official opening events beginning Saturday morning.

Salina Mayor Aaron Peck and Kansas State University president

Kirk Schulz – who are both Eagle Scouts – will attend the opening

ceremonies.

The public will be admitted to weekend events for $10. Any

non-Scout young person who wants to participate will be admitted

for $20.
