Southwest Medical Center’s 2026 Community Health Fair brought healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community organizations together on Saturday, October 3, to provide residents access to free and low-cost health services. The annual event recorded 2,482 screenings and services, including 1,137 laboratory screenings.
As one of the region’s largest community health events, the Community Health Fair continues to provide opportunities for individuals and families to learn more about their health, receive important screenings, and connect with local healthcare providers.
The 2026 Community Health Fair screenings included:
- 1,137 laboratory screenings
- 325 blood pressure exams
- 348 pulse oximetry screenings
- 105 skin cancer screenings (with 59 recommended follow-up)
- 68 clinical breast exams (with 18 referred for diagnostic follow-up)
- 136 vision screenings, including visual acuity and field of vision (with 42 recommended follow-up)
- 114 blood glucose exams (with 14 recommended follow-up)
- 90 spirometry screenings
- 55 oral cancer screenings
- 87 vaccinations
- 9 orthopedic exams
- 7 general surgery evaluations
- 1 physical therapy screening
Beyond the numbers, the event offered residents an opportunity to speak directly with healthcare professionals, ask questions about their health, and identify potential concerns that may require additional evaluation or follow-up care.
“Every year, our Community Health Fair reminds us how important it is to make preventive healthcare accessible to the people we serve,” said Amber Williams, Chief Executive Officer at Southwest Medical Center. “Behind these numbers are individuals and families taking steps to better understand their health. I’m incredibly grateful to our employees, healthcare providers, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners whose dedication makes this event possible. Their continued support allows us to provide important healthcare services and make a meaningful difference in our community.”
This event would not have been possible without the support of our generous sponsors:
Silver Sponsors: Pheasant Heaven Charities & United Healthcare
Bronze Sponsors: Bank of the Plains, Equity Bank, Golden Plains Credit Union, Heartland Cancer Center, Seward County Broadcasting, Southern Office Supply, Southern Pioneer Electric, The Community Bank, and The Midland Group.
Southwest Medical Center extends its appreciation to the sponsors, volunteers, participating organizations,
and community members who contributed to the success of the 2026 Community Health Fair.
