A fatality crash occurred Friday morning, October 30th at approximately 4:51 am. The accident happened on US Highway 64 at Mile Marker 17. Hartsell Chance, 40, of Elkhart was traveling eastbound on US-64 near Mile 17 when he crossed left of centerline and departed the roadway to the left, entering the north ditch. Chances vehicle struck a culvert, causing the vehicle to become airborne. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by the Medical Examiner.
