Mosaic Celebrates National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week

KSCB News - September 14, 2010 12:00 am

They are celebrating at Mosaic in Liberal this week. It’s National

Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week in Kansas. Mosaic

in Liberal provides services for people with developmental disabilities.

They help about 63 people with disabilities and employ over 60 people.

Direct support professional Dora Abeta has been doing this for 14

years but had to get over that first hump.

“My first day there I thought Oh my gosh I don’t know if I can handle this but yes I love it and I’m still here. I would highly recommend other people to be involved. It’s very rewarding. You get a lot of smiles. It’s wonderful to help people with disabilities.”

Abeta helps people with day to day activities in the community.
