The fire started in the back yard beneath the back porch, then began to spread into the back door of the house. “As Firefighters were arriving the fire began to spread into the back of the house which created an incredibly dangerous situation for the occupants of the home”, said Fire Chief Grant Wadley. Two adults and 2 small children were present in the home and escaped out the front door while calling 911.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and stopped the fire from any further damage inside the home. The deck porch was a complete loss along with patio furniture. Due to the damage to the house and loss of power to the house, the family will be staying with relatives till further notice. The children were evaluated by Fire Department Paramedics on scene for minor smoke inhalation.
