Bee Jays Take Slug Fest Over Jax

It was another slug fest between the Liberal Bee Jays and the Colorado Lumberjax Tuesday evening at Rock Canyon High School in Highlands Ranch.  The Bee Jays won 22-12 in eight innings.

Liberal scored three in the first.  Trenton Uyeda singled.  Noah Giovanelli drove home two with a ground ball through the right side.  Caden Isola ripped an RBI double to left center.  The Bee Jays scored four in the second.  Trenton Uyeda hit a two RBI single.  Cole Manuel added an RBI single.  Noah Giovanelli hit a sac fly for the 7-0 lead.  Liberal added three more in the third.  Ben Finnegan blasted a two run home run to right.  Cal Anthony hit a sac fly.  But the Lumberjax responded with a nine run fourth on eight hits.  Noah Giovanelli drove home a run in the fifth to lead 11-9.  Seth Green’s RBI double in the sixth gave the B.J’s a 12-9 lead.  But the Lumberjax scored three in the sixth to tie the game at 12-12.  Liberal plated two in the seventh to take the lead back.  Cade Adams lined a sac fly to left.  Jhett Huffman whistled an RBI double to left center.  In the eighth, Ben Finnegan singled and scored on two errors.  Cole Manuel blasted a two run home run to center for the 17-12 lead.  The Bee Jays launched four home runs in an eight run eighth.  Cole Manuel hit a two run homer and Cal Anthony made it back to back jacks with a towering home run to right.  Caden Isola admired a two run home run to left and Ben Finnegan hit a two run home run to center for his second homer of the game.

The Bee Jays out-hit the Lumberjax 19-15.  Colorado had four errors and Liberal had one.

Ben Finnegan was Black Hills Energy Player of the Game with two home runs going 3-6.  Seth Green went 4-6 with a double.  Kaden Isola was 2-5 with a home run, a double, and three RBI’s.  Noah Giovanelli was 2-2 with four RBI’s.  Cal Anthony was 2-3 with a home run and four runs.  Cole Manuel was 2-4 with a home run and three RBI’s.  Trenton Uyeda went 2-6 with four runs and three RBI’s.  Jhett Huffman enjoyed his birthday going 2-4 with a double and two runs.

In relief, Braxon Trenkle went a scoreless inning and Jack Taczy went 1 and 1/3 scoreless.

The Lumberjax fall to 5-17 overall and 2-14 in the Rocky Mountain.  Liberal improves to 12-6 overall and 10-5 in the Rocky Mountain.  The Bee Jays play at the Gameday Angels Wednesday night at 7pm central time with pre-game at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
