Leland Barry Agan, 81, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday June 7, 2026 at his home.
He was born on December 29, 1944 to Herbert and Inez (Allison) Agan at Atwood, KS.
Leland graduated from Atwood High School in Atwood, KS and later attended Seward County Community College in Liberal. He worked many years at OTASCO at the old Southgate Mall and Shopping Center. In 1993 he opened Leland’s Place on 2nd Street where he served the area’s best burgers, fries, patty melts, and onion rings to his customers with a heartfelt smile. After closing Leland’s Place in 2003 he worked at Dillon’s, operating the Fuel Island until his retirement in 2012. Throughout all of his endeavors, Leland was well known for his kindness and love of visiting with people. Years back he served as a Pancake Day Chairman and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW. His hobbies included working with and building computers along with Gaming; he was a Gamer before the term officially existed! Most of all, he loved being with his Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren; watching them grow filled his heart with joy.
Leland is survived by his Daughter, Erica Harris of Liberal, KS; Sister, Beverley Gaines of Oberlin, KS; Four Grandsons: Byron Agan of Turpin, OK, Austin Agan of Liberal, KS, Harley Slattery of Liberal, KS, Alden Cardiel of Liberal, KS; Great Granddaughters, Mila Agan and Brooklynn Agan; Great Grandson, Braylen Agan.
He was preceded in death by Father, Herbert W Agan, Mother, Inez Nell Agan, four Brothers, Arleigh Dean Agan, Dennis Agan, Jerry Agan, and Rick Agan.
Per Leland’s wishes there will be no viewing and cremation has taken place.
The family may hold a Celebration of Life Service which will be announced at a later date.
