The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening and approved the renewal of the contract with Diligent which is the company that runs Board Docs the BOE meeting software The Board approved the statement of work from CFC Response in the amount of $21,050.00. CFC Response will deploy containment and monitoring tooling for 30 days to actively monitor and respond to any ongoing account access threat, enabling swift account remediation to contain identified threats.
Approved were Tuition Amendments for Kayla Baeza, Melissa Hilditch ,Kylie Eagan, and Ciro Rodriguez. Also approved were Registered Teacher Apprenticeship programs for Andrea Ortiz, Sheldon White, Lesley Melendez, and Dunia Escarsega. The Board of Education approved the ESL Plan of study as presented for Alondra Gonzales.
Bids were awarded for General Stock and Art Supplies and the Board approved the adoption of the Amplify dual language curriculum and professional development for Prairie View Elementary in the amount of $134,939.26 and they adopted the upgrade of the Danielson Teacher Evaluation Framework to the 2022 version.
Approved at the meeting was Professional Development from Amplify for elementary schools in the amount of $30,600. In the Special Education Department the Board approved the hiring for position of a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing for USD 480, an additional Speech Language Pathologist position, an additional Special Education Instructional Coach position, and a District Behavior Specialist position. For Special Education and General Education, approved was the proposal from Cultivate Education in the amount of $51,750.
Approved was the agreement with Teaching Channel. The Teaching Channel is a subscription that will give the district access to research-based professional learning that will support administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers during coaching cycles. There are also video modules that can be facilitated for paraprofessional training. The access will include a video library to over 2500 videos for instructional coaching, mentoring, training, and to support collaborative Professional Learning Communities.
The Board approved using The School Improvement grant to purchase a contract with Relay Education for training which will involve targeted coaching, professional development and local support to further develop and deepen implementation of effective instructional strategies.
