Girls Invited to Journey to the Wild Side

Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland has partnered with the Lee Richardson Zoo to offer ??Journey to the Wild Side, Girl Scout Day at the Zoo, ? on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City. Both Girl Scouts and future Girl Scouts (K-12) are invited to enjoy animal stations and live animal programs.

Girls will have the opportunity to explore the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through activities based on the ??It ??s Your Planet, Love It ? Journey series. Girl Scout Journeys are a series of age-based programs that are packed with the latest research and girl-relevant environmental thinking.

Girl Scout staff and volunteers will be on hand at each zoo to register potential Girl Scouts as members and reregister current Girl Scouts for the new school year. Girl Scout membership is only $12 per year (please pay by cash or check), and membership forms will need to be signed by a parent or guardian. Girl Scout Registration and Activities will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m with Girl Scout admissionjust $5 per Girl Scout, which includes activities and patch.
